Redox
Redox Chemistry involves reactions that undergo electron transfers. In order for electrons to be transferred, one substance must supply the electrons while another substance must gain those electrons. So, in reality, redox is two processes - oxidation and reduction. These reactions make up our study of Electrochemistry which includes the study of Galvanic cells and Electrolysis. These processes are important to understand how batteries work and how techniques such as electroplating are important chemical processes. You will soon discover that Redox is truly electric!
