Organic chemistry
Organic chemistry is the study of carbon-based compounds, which are crucial to all living things. Your study of this area of chemistry will begin with basic nomenclature (naming) of organic compounds and functional groups. After learning the rules for nomenclature, you will gain an understanding of some common organic chemistry reactions that occur. Finally, you will gain an understanding of how these chemicals and their reactions are important to you personally and to society in general.
